CHANGE YOUR HOMEPAGE/STARTPAGE!
I read an interview in 1996 wherein Larry Ellison, the Oracle man, was grousing about how Netscape would soon go down the tubes because people wouldn't stand for the fact that every time they turned on their webrowser, it loads Netscape's homepage.
- I like to tell this story,
- a) because I like to make fun of rich guys
- b) because it demonstrates that any incoherent babbling baboon can make a heap of money and that the acquisition of capital is not the manifestation of the Deity's desire, like the Divine Right of Kingship
- c) because it proves that anyone, even a guy who has made millions in computers, could need an optimization tutorial.
Yo! Listen up, Larry! You can actually decide for yourself what the default homepage is! It's so easy, even a millionaire can do it himself. And think of the satisfaction!
